Being our first Valentine's Day and therefore, being poor, we knew we had to keep things low key. So I was certainly surprised when I came home from work that day to see a large bouquet of purple flowers with chocolates and a wonderful note from my man!
He doesn't normally have the car, because he gets a ride with another guy who is also going to law school, so he had to order these and have them delivered! I was certainly surprised! And now we have a beautiful square vase! I know, I'm weird to be excited about the vase. The chocolate rose next to it was from one of the students in the class I was long-term subbing in. The kids were really sweet (on this day)! These kids come from really poor homes, but I still got that and 3 boxes of chocolates! They are good to their teachers.
Anyway, so all I got Nate was a bag of Reece's because he LOVES those. Then we went out to Denny's where they have some cheaper menu options (we only spent about $10, including the tip) and came home to watch a movie from the library. I can't remember which one it was now, but it was kind of a chick flick. But despite the money constraints, we had a great time together and enjoyed showing and expressing our love for each other!
Those can be some of the best holidays the one where there isnt alot of money put into it but a lot of time and thought. ps, those are beautiful flowers.
