Logan's 2nd Birthday!

I must say, I was really excited to be able to invite family over for Logan's birthday party this year. The only problem was that both of us got sick the week before (Logan got the croup!) So I wasn't able to do as much decorating as I would've liked because I just didn't have the time to make much. Poor Logan was the sickest I have ever seen him. All he wanted to do for 2 days was just lay around and you could tell he was struggling with breathing and his cough was awful sounding. Usually even if he is sick, he still will want to play but not this time. But luckily we were able to go to the doctor and he got a steroid shot which helped immensely. He was also supposed to take some steroid pills, but he would not eat it. I would crush it up and put it in pudding or yogurt but he must've still tasted it because he either threw up or spit it all up and then wouldn't have another bite. It was really frustrating. But at least he got that shot which seemed to be all he needed. He was all better by his party on Saturday.

So we invited all family that lives in Utah and everyone was able to come except Tiffany. She ended up getting sick with heat exhaustion earlier that day. Anyway, the theme was Little Einstein's since that is a favorite show of his and while the kids were arriving, I had them make musical instruments out of boxes, milk cartons, toilet paper rolls and beans and rubber bands. They seemed to be having tons of fun and pretty soon it got way too noisy so they were moved outside where they played a song.

I ran out of memory on my camera so this is a very short film.

After the noise, we ate dinner. Costco pizza with some salads, then we did the cupcakes and blew out the 2 little candles. Logan understood a little better about what he was supposed to do.
Getting ready to blow out the candles. It took some time.

Everything is red even though it looks a bit pink

After eating, we opened the presents. He totally knows how to open presents now and really enjoys it. He loved all the toys he got!

After that, the kids went on a mission (scavenger hunt) to find their party bags. I basically had to carry Logan from place to place so he wouldn't miss out. He had no idea what was going on. They all got some candy and noise makers in their bags. I know, I'm sure the parents loved the drive home with those! All-in-all I think it was a success and the kids seemed to have a lot of fun. There was even a little interaction between both sides of our families.

  1. Looked like a fun party! Thanks for posting! I didn't know you all got sick the week before. That's not fun.
