Christmas Vacation Part 2

So Christmas Day we headed to Nate's house. We had a really good Lunch/Dinner and the kids showed us their presents. Other than that, we just chilled. I really don't remember what we did on Monday, so we probably mostly just stayed in. I am thinking we went to Grandma Hill's to chat with her for a bit as well. On Tuesday, there were plans to go out to dinner, but I messed all that up because I got really sick. As in, I couldn't keep any food in my body. And it was worse since I am pregnant so all of my energy was zapped. I didn't want to get anyone else sick, so I quarantined myself to our room and  read, slept, and watched a movie on a portable DVD player. I tried to come down at the end of the day and just couldn't handle it so I went back up.

The next day I was feeling quite a bit better and we went to the new Aquarium and there were surprisingly a lot of animals there! It's such a small building that it's amazing that they pack all of those animals in there! My favorite part was touching the sting rays! I love feeling their soft skin. I guess it's called skin. My nephew Matthew was the only one of the kids who actually dared to touch the sting ray. Summer hardly dared to even look at anything! She was so scared! But anyway, there was also an Anaconda, which always makes me happy! I kind of rushed through the end because I was still feeling a little weak and needed to sit. And there weren't too many places to sit. That night, I met up with my great friend, Becky to catch up since it had been about a year since we'd seen each other. So I really enjoyed that as well.

So Thursday night we went out to dinner to Golden Coral, since they postponed going because of me. I definitely didn't eat as much as I normally do, but it was great! On Friday, at least I think it was Friday, we went to Salt Lake and went to the Children's Museum. It was my first time being there and I can see why the kids love it. There was fishing, dolls, dress ups, feeding the missionaries, computer-type games, etc. The kids certainly had a blast and it was fun to watch them play.

Saturday was New Year's Eve! We spent the night eating snacks, playing games, and watching Dolphin Tale. It was a great feel-good movie. And of course, there was Sparkling Cider as we watched the ball drop. And I like actually having someone to kiss at midnight! ;) Sunday morning we went back to my parents to church. That night, we watched The Princess and the Frog on the projector/surround sound that my dad got for Christmas.

Monday, I wanted to see my family one last time, so we headed down to Utah Valley. But first we stopped and watched We Bought A Zoo which was a great movie and very touching. We hung out with JJ's family for a bit, then met up with Missy's family and Tiffany & David at Pizza Pie Cafe. After we ate there, we went to Missy's to play games. Tuesday, we headed home.

It was such a great vacation and I am so glad I was able to get 2 weeks off of work! It was a much needed a break and so wonderful to see our families.
