Last Easter without Kids

These days almost everything we do, we think about how it is the last time we will do this or that without kids. Honestly though, Easter is like Christmas and will be more fun with kids. But we do have fun by ourselves. The Saturday before, one of the families in our ward had a little picnic/Easter Egg Hunt and invited pretty much everyone from the ward. Everyone that comes brings a side dish. They do this every year, but they will be moving soon so it might be the last time unless someone else decides to do it next year. It's always really fun. There are a ton of eggs for the kids and each of them also gets a golden egg which they trade in for a prize (a little toy). So we watch them, chat, and eat.

On Sunday after church, we celebrated Easter with just ourselves. We made a nice dinner with ham, potatoes, rolls, deviled eggs, and artichoke. It was Nate's first time having artichoke and I was excited to show him how to eat it. I really like them, for some reason. Nate helped cook everything. I wouldn't have had the energy to make such a big dinner by myself. After dinner, we dyed Easter Eggs! Last year in the after Easter sales we bought a little kit (mostly just for the cups and the wire thing that holds the eggs to dye) so we used that kit. Now I don't have to worry about possibly dying one of our nice cups. But we dyed 10 eggs because we used the other 2 for our deviled eggs. The eggs are beautiful, don't you think?

Eating artichoke

We dipped them in olive oil and balsamic vinegar
Our eggs all done!
I'm sure it will be a lot more fun next year when we can do a little Easter basket and the year after that, Logan might actually know what is going on and will have fun finding a couple of eggs.

  1. Nice shirt! I'm glad you had a great Easter together. You guys have such great attitudes. If it's fun without kids, it will only get better.
