We have a 4 month old!

He doesn't use his binkie much anymore except to play with
Logan turned 4 months old on October 15, 2012. He is getting more and more fun all the time.

Stats:
Weight: 14 lbs 2 ounces (33rd percentile)
Height: 24 1/2 inches long (25th percentile)
Head: 50th percentile
So he is growing into his head but still on the smaller side of things.

He rolls over from his belly to his back at night sometimes (we have him sleep on his belly). However, he doesn't know how to roll back and he can't sleep on his back, so he ends up crying until I come in to flip him over, then he pretty much immediately goes back to sleep. He still hasn't rolled during the day.

In this picture, he looks a lot like Nate in one of his baby pictures.
I wish I had it, then I would post it so you could compare.
One of his soothing techniques when going to sleep is that he scratches the bed. I'm not sure if it is the sound or the feel that he likes, but he likes to scratch. He also does it on one of his toys that is made of fabric and other things (like himself, me, or Nate).

Logan also moves all over the place in his crib (yes, we finally got a crib a few weeks ago!). I always start with him on the bottom of the bed, and he usually ends up towards the top. Sometimes he is horizontal and sometimes he is facing a completely different direction! He also moves in a clockwise fashion when laying on his back playing with his gym. However, during tummy time, he doesn't move. I mean, he kicks and moves his arms and even gets up on his knees and elbows, but he doesn't go anywhere. So we're still working on that.

Logan tries to sit up. When I have him in a reclining position, he lifts his head and you can tell he is trying to lift his whole body to do a sit up but just can't do it. We practice trying to have him sit up and it just lasts a second or two, but I think it's coming soon!

He can now play in his exersaucer  and he loves it! Of course, his feet don't
touch the ground, but he likes the toys. I have him in there sometimes when
I shower and when I am doing something upstairs (like putting clothes away).
Logan's new thing (besides the laughing and screeching that I already mentioned) is that he loves to spit and blow bubbles. He seriously does it for entertainment. And it is real spitting, like slobber flying and very large bubbles. We go through 2-3 bibs a day and his shirt still ends up wet at the end of the day!

So I thought that he was slobbering purely for fun, but on his 4 month birthday, he was having a rough day and I just thought it was because he was tired. It turns out he was a bit constipated and he was cutting a tooth! Just before bedtime, I was letting him suck my finger and I noticed it felt a bit sharp, I looked inside, and there was some white peaking through! I was not expecting that at 4 months! Poor baby! And yet, he still had some very happy times despite the pain he was in.

Blowing spit bubbles
As for breastfeeding, I have given up the fight during the day so now he just breastfeeds at night. I pump right before going to bed, and then I breastfeed at night and supplement the nightly breastfeeding with the milk I had just pumped (usually ends up being about 2 ounces after pumping for 40 min. I know, pathetic).

Nighttime sleeping is great! As long as Logan stays on his tummy and doesn't roll over, than he only wakes up once to eat! It's so wonderful. It's generally around 4-6 when he wakes up and then he wakes up for the day usually around 7:30. However, he has been known to wake up anywhere from 6:30-8:30. As for naps, every once in awhile, he will have one longer nap in a day (lasting over an hour), but most of his naps are still 30-40 minutes. He usually has 3 naps still. And he's still not on a schedule.

My happy boy
Of course there are hard days, but ever since I gave up breastfeeding during the day, there are almost always good days. Logan is such a good baby and I just feel so blessed to have him! I keep asking myself how lucky I am to have such a good baby! Even with teething and getting his immunizations today, he has been a happy boy. And after getting the shots, he basically stopped crying once I picked him up. We just love him to death!
