Davis County Fair

The Davis County Fair was going on while the Phelons were here, so some of us took the younger ones there while the older ones went to Boondocks (at least, I think this is the day the older ones went there, but they could've been somewhere else). Anyway, Steven was the oldest cousin at the fair but he seemed to enjoy it.

We first just walked around some booths, then we went to where the animals were. There were chickens and bunnies. And they were even able to pet some baby bunnies. Then we went to the petting zoo. Logan was in heaven and could've stayed there all day. But the girls were all really scared and left almost as soon as they came in. When Maycee came in, a huge sheep came right up to her face so she was done. A donkey or something (I don't remember very well), decided to poop on my new TOMS, so that was sad. But it was worth it just to watch how excited Logan was.
This was a funny looking chicken

a goat...

a llama (I think)...
a camel...
and a tortoise. The tortoise was actually quite difficult to catch. He was moving quickly and often underneath other animals.

After the petting zoo, we stood in line to ride the ponies. Summer has always been really afraid of animals, but she got brave and rode a pony! We were all so proud of her! Logan of course, had no fear.

After the ponies, we got quick snacks (most got sno cones or drinks). Then we got some tickets to ride a few rides. I only took Logan on the Merry-go-Round. That's all Maycee did as well. She was really freaked out at first, but gradually she started to enjoy it and by the end, she didn't want to get off! I had Maycee on one side of me and Logan on the other side and held onto them to make sure they didn't fall off. The older kids did one or two other rides.
Logan was having a blast, he just didn't show it in this picture. Summer is right behind us.
Maycee looking very worried
Cindy, Annika, and Jillian were supposed to meet us there, but they got there pretty much as we were ready to leave. So they did their own thing. The kids were getting tired so we just couldn't stay. It really was fun though and I'm glad we did it.
