May 31st was Kylie's blessing day. She wore a beautiful dress that my mom made and cute little shoes that Tiffany gave us (since Avery's feet were too big for them so she never wore them). My mom also crocheted a beautiful blanket. And if anyone got better pictures, I will take them! These are so dark! All of our family that live in Utah were there. Unfortunately, my parents got lost and they missed the actual blessing. I was actually out in the foyer talking to them to give them directions to get there when they called the men up to the front, but Nate kindly waited until I came back in before starting the blessing. Also very unfortunate, I misplaced the notes that I took of the blessing, I've been looking at it for months and now it just disappeared. Luckily I do have Missy's and Karl's notes. If I find mine, I will be updating this.
Here is the gist of the blessing:
We take this infant in our arms and give her a name and blessing. The name by which she shall be known on the records of the church and on the earth is Kylie Jean Summers. This blessing is from Heavenly Father. You were brought into this world that is a little tumultuous. There are many differing opinions about God. You will be blessed to know the truth about God. You will have a discerning heart and know right from wrong. Search diligently the scriptures and you will feel the spirit in your life. You will be blessed to be sealed in the temple to an eternal companion and to be with your family for eternity. If you have a desire, you will serve a mission. You will be able to find those who have their hearts open to hear it and bring many to know the truth. We give you any other blessings that the Lord sees fit. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
After the sacrament meeting, we went back to Nate's parents' house for a breakfast. I made breakfast casseroles (it was my first time making them so I'm so glad they turned out!). And I asked others to bring things like fruit, muffins, and drinks. We just enjoyed each other's company. It was a great day!
How sweet. She's such a darling girl!
