In Logan's preschool, they go on a field trip every month. January's field trip was to the Weber State Planetarium. This was not a favorite of Nate's. He went since it was on a Wednesday. Apparently there was no parking and they circled and circled the parking lot just waiting for someone to leave so that was frustrating and made it so Nate ended up getting to work late and I met them at home instead of the usual when they meet me at my school. It was also a bit expensive. But they were able to see 3 star movies on the ceiling. The movie projects on the ceiling so it seems like you are looking at the night sky. Nate said the kids really enjoyed it.
Martin Luther King Day wasn't too exciting. We went to Great Harvest Bread for lunch, since I got a gift card from one of students for it. We also bought a loaf of very yummy cinnamon bread. We also bought me a new phone. The battery on my other one was dying and it really didn't have much storage space. But it was my first smart phone. RIP first smart phone. We decided to go for an LG since they often have good batteries.
Friday was Nate's birthday! He took off work and was a stay-at-home dad for the day until I got off work. Unfortunately when I do work on Fridays, I have to work a full day until 4. But I guess Nate preferred that over going to work on his birthday. Once I got home, Nate opened his presents and I think we ate cake too. Then we dropped the kids off at the Summers and went to Cafe Sabor. It is a Mexican restaurant and their salsa was the best I've ever had! Then we went to see Star Wars Rogue 1. It seems a new Star Wars often comes out in January so it's a good time to go.
Nate's birthday is also inauguration day and unfortunately the American people elected Pres. Donald Trump. It was either him or Hillary Clinton so both were bad choices. I had voted for a 3rd party. Politics is just ridiculous these days. We have to be close to the last days when our choices are both people without great morals. Anyway, we will survive (I hope!).
