General Conference and Easter

The first weekend of April, we went to my parent's house for General Conference/ Easter weekend. We got there on Friday evening (traffic was terrible) and came home Sunday evening. Saturday was General Conference. Missy's family and Tiff's family were there for the Saturday sessions. The morning session was the solemn assembly to sustain President Nelson as our new prophet. It was such a special experience to sustain him and I know he is the true prophet of the church today. I didn't come quite as prepared as I have in the past with things for the kids to do, but they sat and watched a talk or 2. Mostly, they enjoyed playing with each other. I was terrible and took a nap or two. It's just so hard when I hadn't slept through the night once for months.

Between sessions we had an Easter egg hunt for all the grandkids that were there. Each child could get 10 eggs. There was also a golden egg with a dollar in it. Brinley and Cambree had a battle for it because they saw it at the same time. The little kids were upset that it was hidden high and they couldn't get it. Apparently, Avery saw it first but couldn't reach it.

For some reason, we mostly just have pictures/video of Kylie!

General Conference was awesome. So much revelation through President Nelson as our new prophet. We also had two new apostles sustained. They are Gerrit Gong and Ulisses Soares. One is Asian American and the other is Brazilian. At priesthood session, President Nelson announced that there would no longer be 2 priesthood quorums. There will just be one Elders Quorum, with High Priests joined in it. The final change was that home teaching and visiting teaching was done away with in favor of "ministering."
