September Happenings!

Ethan waving "nigh nigh"

I was able to go to the annual Girl's weekend with my mom's side of the family. We usually had it at my Aunt Doralyn's cabin near Brighton, but they sold it this year so I didn't think we would be able to do these trips anymore. But my Aunt Rae asked her friend if we could use her cabin in Park City, so it was still on! I got some pages done on Logan's blurb book (I still haven't finished one for him). And I went on a relaxing walk in the morning. Park City really is a beautiful place. We were having some pretty terrible fires, so you could smell the smoke in the air, but it was still nice. I slept on the couch since sleeping in a bed can still be hard for me. Unfortunately though, that meant I had to wait for everyone else to go to bed and sometimes people came through in the middle of the night for something or other, so I didn't sleep much.

Meanwhile at home, Nate took the kids to the park on Friday. On Saturday, he had to coach soccer and they had soccer pictures, so he took Kylie and Ethan to his parents to have them watch those 2 so he could focus on his team. He had a very busy morning.

That evening we went to an emergency preparedness thing that the ward put on. I was in charge (with the YW) of entertaining the children. So Nate went to the class and learned about sanitation during a disaster (like what to do with your human waste). He said it was very informative.

The last weekend in September, we went on a drive through Trappers Loop and then hiked up Birdsong Trail to see the leaves. This trail is short and relatively easy and is becoming our Fall tradition. This year, the weather was nice. Not cold at all.

Ethan learned to point. And he really likes doing it. He seems to be a little faster at learning his fine motor skills and slower at learning his gross motor skills, since he still isn't crawling. Hopefully before he turns 1!

Here are some random pictures from the month:
