For a family outing, we went to the University of Utah Natural History Museum. It had a lot of dinosaur bones and a place where the kids could "dig" for dino bones. They had fun!
My parents officially left on their mission to Australia. We sent them off at the airport. I only shed a few tears. I know they are doing what the Lord wants them to do and that they will help many people.
Before going all the way home, I took the kids to a park in North Salt Lake or Woodscross that I had seen off the freeway that looked fun. They did have fun!
The Phelons came for their annual visit. They started with a trip to the rodeo. I didn't care to go (I don't like rodeos), so I stayed home and put Kylie and Ethan to bed while Nate took Logan. It sounded like Logan wasn't too interested in most of it, but there were a few parts he liked.
The next day, we took everyone to the hike of the lower falls at Adam's Canyon. We told them it was an easy hike, but apparently, easy means something different to many people in Nate's family! ha ha! There were a lot of complaints. I guess most of his side of the family just aren't into hiking.
After the hike, we went down to a park near my Aunt Sharon's house for a reunion for the Davis side of the family. Unfortunately, it was poorly attended. They originally had wanted to do a cruise, but that was a hardship for many of us (like us), so they ended up just doing it at a park. They had a fun BINGO game for the kids to play to learn about my grandparents and the kids enjoyed playing. Ethan learned he likes watermelon! Some people decided to go to my Aunt Sharon's house because it was so hot out, but we decided to head home.
Next was the 24th of July. It's always a bit of a party. We went to Bowman's Grocery store for breakfast and met Nate's parents there. We went back to Bowman's for their afternoon festivities but they were terrible this year. They had very few activities and long lines everywhere. In the past, they have had a bouncy house thing, but not this year. The kids barely did anything. After that we went to Nate's parents house. We brought water balloons for the kids to play with. That's always fun. Then we did the usual BBQ with hot dogs and hamburgers. We bought some fireworks a few weeks ago and set those off. We though Ethan might be afraid of them because he's not very brave but he loved them. He wanted to go light them himself. It was pretty fun. We bought pretty tame ones. Tyler though brought a couple of big ones and those were pretty exciting. I think they were bigger than Logan thought they would be.
Here are some extra videos from the month:
We played hopscotch for FHE and Ethan was so funny!
