This was the best! So after spending the first night in Salt Lake City in a 4 star hotel (my first one! Unless you count our family vacation in Italy), we headed to California! We drove all day and got to our hotel, which was only a Hotel 6, but it was 1/2 mile away from the gates of Disneyland!!! So I would say it's one of the nicer Hotel 6's. It had a pool and hot tub, which we enjoyed on Sunday. But I'm getting ahead of myself. So we got there Friday evening. Then Saturday morning, we headed to Disneyland! This was Nate's first time so I was excited to show him all the great rides and introduce him to Fastpass. That first day we did Adventureland, Critter Country, Frontierland, and Fantasyland. That night we saw Fantasmic. Here are a few bad pictures from our first day (it's difficult to always be taking pictures of yourselves:)

 |
| I love this face! Trying to be the Farmer |
 |
| Tea Cups! I actually went on the spinning Tea Cups and didn't get too sick! |
 |
| Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. I don't know what's up with my tongue that day |
The next day was Sunday, so we went to church, then proceeded to find the beach. We didn't have internet and the GPS for some reason won't find it if you just search for Beach:). So we took what looked like a main road and just started heading West. More than an hour late, just when we were about to give up, we saw water! We followed the road on the beach for just a bit and found Redondo Beach! It looked like tons of fun if it wasn't freezing and not a Sunday, because you could rent boats and paddle boats, there was an arcade and little fair type rides, but it was a Sunday and freezing, so we found a bench and sat for a bit looking at the water huddled up in our blanket, then we left. This time we used the GPS to get back, and it cut the time in half! Then we got in the hot tub to warm up and to actually use our swimsuits:)

On Monday we went to Disney California! We rode all the rides, except Tower of Terror, because we also watched the World of Colors show. Which was really awesome, except you had to stand through the entire thing after being on your feet all day! And when your short, this is never good accommodations. I was constantly trying to see around the people in front of me. So despite it being really cool with the mixture of fountains and lights, if you have kids, I would not recommend staying up to watch it. You first have to stand in line during the day to get tickets for it, then you stand in a line before entering the standing area, then you stand to watch the show. And all of this after spending a day standing in line for rides. And you would have to hold your kids up in order for them to see. My back was killing me by the end of that day! So that wasn't the best experience, but a ride that was surprisingly fun was the Toy Story Arcade ride. It was 3-D, and your car would stop at different games where you try to shoot as many things as you can and try to beat your partner. Nate and I loved it!

| After the Grizzly Bear River Run |

| Bug's Life Bumper Cars. Definitely for kids, but we had fun |

| The Swings! Nate's Favorite! |

| 3-D Glasses for the Toy Story ride! |

| I was player 1, Nate was player 2. Yes, he has a higher score, but check out that accuracy! |

Last day of Disneyland. We did Tomorrowland, The Matterhorn, It's a Small World, and attempted Roger Rabbit in Toontown. But after we had been standing in line for about 20 min, they said the ride would be closed for an indeterminate time. By this time we were tired, so we decided to forget it. But we still had to do the Tower of Terror at Disney California, so we headed over there. And I'm so glad we didn't miss that! That was one of my favorite rides! I won't ruin it for you by telling you what it does, but it was way fun and a good one to end our day on. Oh! I forgot to mention that after we had eaten dinner the day before at an all-you-can-eat buffet, I got sick. I just ate way too much! We were heading back to the park, and I just couldn't walk anymore or I knew I would throw up, so we went off to the side and I just laid in Nate's lap on the cement until I felt well enough for us to walk back to the hotel to take a little break. Ha ha! Very dumb thing to do! We later came back to ride the Toy Story ride and to watch the World of Colors.

| It's a Small World |

| Cinderella's Castle |
That night we went to the Cheese Factory to really celebrate and splurge and it was delicious! We had dinner and dessert. When they brought out our dessert, they had written Happy Honeymoon on the plate in strawberry syrup around the cheesecake with little hearts. So cute! I wish I had a picture of it, but it's on Nate's phone. We forgot to bring the camera to that.
The next day, we headed home and spent the remainder of our time before we moved to Ohio at my parents and Nate's parents (and Cindy's, his sister).
Looks like you had a great time. I love the tongue sticking out all the time. ;) We also had horrible weather at the beach huddled up. What's up with that?
ReplyDeleteOh, I love and miss Disney Land! We went there in April and our little girl, Summer, was in heaven. I'm so glad you guys had fun too, and that you documented everything so you'll remember it all!
ReplyDeleteSo fun!!! I can't wait to go and take the girls...when they are a little older!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you guys had a super fun time. Why was the water so cold? And don't even worry about Motel 6, when we went to Vegas we stayed at the Travelodge on the Strip. It was right next to Circus Circus. It smelled like cigarettes, old hotel and the pool was empty. Our free continental breakfast was a juice box and Little Debby Cinabun. So we pretty much just stick to saying that we stayed in a hotel on the Strip, that's it. And I'm sure your Motel 6 was super nice... right next to Disney Land... talk about a magical place!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteWell, it was just a really cold and windy day, so we didn't want to get in the water. That seems to happen to me a lot when I go to the California beaches.
