Buzz!!! Buzz!!! Buzz!!!

I have a lot of things to blog about because we have been having tons of fun, but what has been on my mind lately, and has been making me a little paranoid (ok, a lot paranoid), is bees! This last week, we had a total of 16 bees come into our home through our air conditioning unit! 16! We got really good at killing them.

It all started last Sunday. They must have just finished their nest and I think about 4 or 5 came in that evening. After the third one came in, I decided to cover the unit with a piece of cloth and some masking tape around the edges. They somehow still found their way in! The next day, I decided to put duct tape around the whole thing. A little while later, buzz!!! They were still getting in! I decided it was war time and went to Walmart to get some bee spray. The directions said we needed to wait until evening so they wouldn't attack us. So while we were waiting probably about 6 more came in. Let's just say that by the time evening came around, I was sooo ready to be rid of these guys. We sprayed the lady's deck above us and our air conditioning unit. I was sure we were fine. Buzz! Another 2 came in even before we went to bed! What? So we went out and sprayed once again! That had to be the end of it. The next morning we had a huge rain storm which must've washed away the spray and more came in again! I went out and covered everything with spray a third time. By this point, if I heard anything that resembled a bee, I was on edge. A machine outside sounded like a bee, the stove sounded like a bee (which I guess really was because after we finished dinner it came out of the kitchen, so I wasn't too crazy). But I'd had it. So I decided to finally call Maintenance because I was at my whits end and obviously our hornet spray was not doing the job. The next day we came home from the gym and our window, the deck above us, and surrounding areas were soaked with something that stunk. I assume that they had sprayed some pretty powerful stuff, and they really soaked it. Ever since we haven't had any more bees! Yay for Maintenance! And for my sanity! I am no longer hearing a buzzing sound in every noise
