Logan's first Easter!

We decided to do our Easter celebrations a week early because we would be traveling back from our Spring Break vacation on the actual Easter. First of all, the missionaries came over for dinner on Friday (March 22) and enjoyed our Easter feast with us. We had ham, au gratin potatoes, green beans, and rolls. I tried to do deviled eggs, but it turned out that I didn't boil the eggs long enough! And there wasn't time to cook them again. But it's always nice to have the missionaries over.

Hunting for Easter eggs

On Saturday, we had Logan do an Easter Egg hunt just in our house. It's still so cold here that outside just isn't feasible. I filled a few eggs with Yogurt bites, Cheerios, Puffs, and Chex. He wasn't getting it. He found one egg really fast and then just played with it. It was useless trying to get him to look for any others. He did get it opened and ate the stuff inside. I think it took 3 or 4 days for him to find and open all of the eggs! They were his favorite toys for a little while though.

After the egg hunt, I brought out his Easter Basket. I had gone to a Consignment sale a couple of weeks before and got some gently used things for his basket and for his first birthday. For Easter, he got some little balls and lots of different cloth books (since I won't let him chew on his board books). I also found a glove that has animals for the fingers in order to sing Old McDonald Had a Farm. He enjoys me singing it to him as he tries to bite the animals off my fingers. Logan had lots of fun taking everything out one by one, playing and biting them, then tossing them to the ground. Soon after, we went to get the mail and found a package from Grandma Summers with a little light up bunny for Logan and some candy for Nate and I. He likes it! But he doesn't know how to turn on the lights by himself.

The next day we put him in his new Easter outfit. It is so cute with a little tie and vest! I about died when I saw it. One of the few clothes that we've ever bought for him. It made him look so big! Where did my baby go? The only unfortunate thing was that during Priesthood (Nate always has him for church since I'm busy pretty much the whole time as Primary chorister), Logan slipped and hit his head on the pew in front and got a bit of a shiner. Poor baby was screaming! But by the time I saw him, it was obvious that he didn't even know it was there. Honestly, I'm glad I wasn't around. I would've felt awful for him. Not that Nate didn't feel bad, because he did. But I'm a little more emotional when it comes to Logan.

First shiner. It did get a littler darker than that, but it was all gone within a week.

We never did dye Easter eggs. I did boil them again so they were cooked, but I just wasn't feeling it this year. It will be more fun when Logan is old enough to do some himself.
After our trip, I hadn't put all the eggs away yet since he was playing with them and we
found him putting it in his mouth like this! So funny!
