18 Months Old!

So Logan's 18 month old birthday was during the whirlwind of moving. In fact, the very last Sunday that we were in Canton was the first day he could go to nursery all by himself. We had been taking him for quite awhile (well, Nate had) but since he wasn't old enough, Nate would stay there with him. As we thought, he didn't even bat an eye when we left. He just loves playing with all those toys that aren't his! He still doesn't have any problems and the nursery leaders here in Fruit Heights say if they had 11 Logans (I guess that's how many nursery kids they have) then nursery would be easy! I guess he mostly keeps to himself. I never did take a picture of him on his first day of nursery. Things were too crazy.
I let him have the whole bag of goldfish (I was trying to get things done and knew it would keep him more entertained) and he ended up spilling them all over the couch!
Since it was such a crazy time it's hard to think about what he was like and what new words he learned. He is a big copycat but I don't count those as words unless he knows what he is saying. He says star, sun, what a horse says, what a sheep says, what a pig says, toes, jump, tickle, and apple. And he actually says both syllables with tickle and apple! It seems like the new words that he learns are better enunciated than his older words.

Logan is starting to run everywhere now so it is harder to catch up with him if he takes off! And sometimes he does this funny walk where he twists his upper body from side to side.
He's really into wearing other people's shoes. I think he likes to be able to put them on himself
He seems to be getting to the stage where he wants to do things by himself, but he gets frustrated because he is too little to do them so then I try to help but he gets mad because he wants to do it by himself! So its a lose lose situation. I just try to remember to let him do the things that he can and praise him for it so hopefully he won't get too frustrated when he can't.
First time eating gum. He found it while we were packing. I showed him that you just chew it and he did a good job of not swallowing it!
Logan likes to be held a lot. Especially when I am trying to cook. I know I should probably just put him down and let him cry so he can learn, but I feel bad so I often just pick him up and do most things one handed.

He is still the funny boy who loves to make people smile and laugh! He certainly brings a lot of joy to us everyday!

  1. What a cute little guy! It sounds like his personality is emerging...that is so much fun to see. He sounds so much like all my boys at that age, too. Running, busy, needing to get into things so he doesn't get on your nerves :), and "No, I do it." 18 months is such a fun age. Enjoy it!
