Easter!

I'm finally going to post about Easter. We had lots of fun and were able to celebrate with both sides of our families. This was the first time we had ever celebrated Easter together with our families! So we were excited! To start out, I believe it was the Friday before Easter (April 18th) Logan and I dyed Easter eggs. Yes, the 2 of us did them all. I can't remember what everyone else was doing, but everyone else was gone. I was a little worried about how Logan would do or if he would even be interested and he was! He dropped the eggs in and then immediately wanted them back out, so most of the eggs got multiple dips so they would get darker. Some of them were dipped in multiple colors. And I was just trying really hard to save the eggs from being cracked as Logan quickly dropped and brought back up each egg. Unfortunately, quite a few did end up cracked but luckily Grandma Summers was using them on Sunday for the Easter dinner, so it wasn't a big deal. And he had a blast so it was worth it.

Then Saturday morning the Gees and Cederlofs came over to do an Easter Egg hunt outside. The weather was awesome and the kids had tons of fun finding the eggs and other hidden things that Grandma Summers had hid. She gave each child a bigger gift (Logan got a sippy cup that lights up), a personal bag of candy, and then threw a bunch of extra candy in the grass. I took some video of the hunt. It was Logan's first Easter Egg Hunt and I think he caught on pretty fast. It just got more difficult because the older kids finished faster which left some of the more difficult eggs for the little ones to find. Even though the little ones actually started the Easter Egg Hunt first.

On Sunday, we gave Logan his Easter basket. I just had it out in the open on top of our coffee table and it took him a minute to figure out what we wanted him to see. I had some fun snacks in there and a puzzle that I had bought awhile back from a nearby toy store that was having a sale (I guess they had to make money fast in order to get another loan to stay open). I was worried the puzzle might be a little young for him since its easier than the one he already has, but he's been enjoying it. I also got him some sidewalk paint which we've played with a few times. It's just powdered chalk that you add water to. He really loved the treats! I rarely get him snacks in personal pouches. That evening we had the Easter dinner with the Summers with the yummy, au gratin potatoes, and deviled eggs.
This video is really short, I must not have had much memory.
The next weekend, we went over to my parents for an Easter celebration. We actually had stake conference that day, so we were able to leave early in order to get to my parent's at a decent time. We had a dinner and another Easter Egg hunt. It was just Missy's family and my family, but it was fun! We filled up 10 eggs with candy for each kid so that way my mom didn't have to get it and dinner all ready. Especially when she had just come home after being in Arizona with Angie and her new baby. There was the same problem here as at the Summers' house. The older kids were faster at finding the eggs and even though we said to only get the harder ones, they couldn't see the harder ones so they didn't know what was hard. So Easton and Logan were last looking for all of the difficult eggs.

All the kids: Brinley, Cambree, Easton, Sadie, Logan

Checking out what he got - mouth full of candy:)
It was so fun spending celebrating Easter with both sides of the family. And of course, remembering why we celebrate it, because of all the Savior has done for us. His atonement and resurrection. Such an important holiday.
