We went to my parents' house to watch General Conference, where the prophet and apostles speak, the first weekend in October. We actually watched the Saturday morning session at home then drove to Tooele in between sessions. Then we left on Sunday right after dinner. We wanted to minimize the time Easton and Logan spent together because they can get on each other's nerves. They love playing with each other but they can also have some issues at times. This particular weekend, they played well together though. I think it helped to have Gage there as well so they didn't have to play with each other constantly. The Collette's decided to do conference at their own house this time. But we are glad that Logan is behaving better and rarely hits anymore and he is doing awesome in preschool and almost always gets 1 or 2 stickers, sometimes even 3! They all start the day with the opportunity to get 1 sticker, then they can move up or down the chart. But General Conference was awesome as usual. I did struggle a bit this time with concentrating on talks because of being tired and stressed from teaching, but the ones I heard were really good and thank goodness they come out soon afterward so I can read and study them again.
My birthday celebrations were really low key this year. I just wanted to spend time with my family since I haven't been spending as much time with them as I used to. Nate took a few hours off of work and we went to Pizza Pie Café for dinner as a family. My parents also came by since they were on their way back from somewhere so we ate cake and ice cream with them. I also opened my present from Logan which was a monkey mug. Logan picked it out all by himself. My big gift was a new laptop computer because my old one is dying. So we went shopping for that the next Saturday. It was a nice birthday, spent with my favorite people!
Monday was Columbus Day. Nate didn't have to work, but I did. So after I got home, we drove through Weber and Ogden canyons to see the changing leaf colors. They weren't quite as vibrant as we had hoped, but they were still pretty. And the canyons are just pretty. We also stopped at a little park in Ogden to eat and the kids played for a bit.
The next day, Kylie was a bit moody but I just figured she was tired. Then during dinner, she just suddenly started crying so hard that she fainted in her seat. She was only out for a second but it was so strange that it happened out of the blue and after that she was so lethargic. So we called the doctor's office and got an appointment for her later that evening. The doctor examined her and she had a double-ear infection and a yeast infection. So the poor girl was in a lot of pain. We had to wait forever at Wal-greens to get her prescription since it was so late and so busy so she got to bed quite late. But the good thing is that she started feeling better within a day or 2 even though I had to keep giving her the medicine for 10 days. I was glad we went though so we could get that taken care of.
Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of any of these events, so here are just some cute pictures of the kids from this time period. Kylie is wearing a cute dress from Aunt Stephanie that we got when she was born.
