| Kylie was enthralled by the pendulum |
I was called as Young Women's President! That was a shock! I've never been in a presidency since I was a Laurel and that is completely different because you're not totally in charge. So I have to think and pray about some counselors and advisers and figure out what I'm supposed to do! It's a bit overwhelming. Especially with being a first year teacher and we are thinking about having another baby soon. But Heavenly Father knows all about this and still wants me in this calling so He must know I can do it.
My parents came to bring bookshelf (hutch) to our house. They are downsizing their furniture because they are wanting to move to a smaller house. Unfortunately it was too big and wouldn't go down our basement stairs. They also offered to watch the kids while we went out on a date. That was really nice because it's been awhile since we have been on a date that wasn't going to the temple (besides Nate's birthday). We went to Olive Garden because we had a gift card for there, and watched the movie Hidden Figures. It was really good! It is so hard to find good movies these days, but this one was awesome. It was about some black women who worked for NASA and all they contributed to getting us to the moon as well as dealing with segregation. They were amazing women.
For Valentine's Day, I picked Nate up from work and we went to the Cheesecake Factory (we had a gift card for it too). We were hoping to beat the crowd by getting there at 5, but we still had to wait for an hour. But it was nice to go out to a nicer restaurant.
Blue and Gold Banquet was also in February. This was Nate's 2nd. The den leaders this year are really into decorating, so it looked really nice. The theme was "Passport Around the World" and each table was decorated with things from different countries so Nate and I brought things from our missions to have a Japanese table and an Italian table. We ate, gave out a few awards (there are only 3-4 boys so there isn't much), and played an Italian game and Japanese game. I was in charge of the Italian game. I had to look one up on the internet! It was basically like Alligator, Alligator, What time is it? But it is a wolf instead and I had them use the Italian phrases. Nate did the Japanese game and it was paper, rock, scissors, but using the Japanese words. The boys had fun and I'm sure the parents liked that it was short and sweet.
We both had President's Day off and we went to Article Circle with the Summers' side to let the kids play on the playground. Kylie was acting sick. She was lethargic and hot but didn't seem to have any other symptoms so I decided to take her to Wee Care and it just turned out to be a cold. The next day, she finally had the runny nose, coughing, and stuff. It was just weird that it started with a fever and nothing else. But I'm glad it was just a cold and she was feeling much better in just a day or two.
Angie and Rob went on vacation and my parents watched their kids. My parents brought them here for a day and we went to the new Seaquest Aquarium in the Layton Mall. It's a bit pricey, but it was really fun. We got to sit in an area where birds would just flock to us. Land on our arms, head, whatever! That was my favorite part. We also got to touch sting rays and the kids went in this tunnel where it was like they were swimming with the sting rays. We also got to touch star fish and a big lizard (I can't remember what it was called). And probably the favorite part for the kids was the video game projected on the floor.
We have finally gotten Logan to fall asleep without his overhead light on. Nate bribed him by saying if he would fall asleep without the overhead light on, we would go to Dairy Queen. It took a couple of days of saying this, then he finally got brave enough! He still sleeps with lamp on, but the overhead doesn't need to be on anymore so we don't have to go into his room before we go to bed to turn it off. We are very happy with the improvement!

| I actually let them play outside in the front by themselves! I watched from the window and they did a good job of not going into the road. |
