Beehive Camp, Potty Training, Ward Activities, So Busy!

During the time that the Phelon's were here, I went to Girl's Camp. It was just a Beehive camp this year so we only stayed for one night and went to a small camp ground. Debbie Starke and Cyrena Grimm were the only leaders who came because they are the Beehive leaders and there were only 4 girls plus one youth leader (Sydney White), and 2 bishopric members. Debbie brought her RV, which was really nice. So all of us women leaders slept in that and it was so nice to have a closer bathroom (pregnancy). We packed a lot in those 2 days. The first day we did the hike in the rain (well I stayed behind because I could not hike while being pregnant) and introduced the theme "Girl on Fire" tying it into how a testimony is like a fire. After the rain stopped, we did the T-shirt craft and the girls worked on passing off some of their camp experiences. That evening we did the skit, Testimony meeting, and made s'mores. The girls made up a song for their skit. It was really cute! Not all of the girl's bore their testimonies, but they at least all said something (except one, she is just so extremely shy). But it was a really good experience for them. The next day, Sydney did another little craft with them and gave a spiritual thought. Then we packed up and went home. It was short, but it was good. The girls also helped with making meals.

When I got back from Girl's Camp, I tried to potty train Kylie (starting on Thursday, August 10th). I wanted to do it before school started and also before the baby was born. I thought she was ready because she would often tell me when she needed a diaper change and would go somewhere else if she needed to poop. Well it was a disaster. She cried and cried every time she had an accident and said it hurt. And being pregnant, I wasn't getting her to the toilet fast enough for her to feel success at getting it in the potty. We stopped after the 2nd day. I will just have to wait until after school is out.

Not sure what this is! Ha ha!

Friday afternoon, Logan had a primary water party. Logan had a blast! When Nate picked him up from it, he was talking a million words a minute to tell him all about it! He just loves social activities.

On Saturday, there was a ward party. There were 4 emergency preparedness classes (Emergency Essentials company, Bishop's Storehouse, Thrive company, and a Pets and Kids class) and a BBQ dinner. The Young Women were in charge of having games outside for the kids. So Nate went to the classes while I (and a few of the young women who would actual get up out of their chairs), played games with the kids. I guess the other leaders were awed by my skills at wrangling up the kids to teach them new games. I just had to explain that this is what I do! It's my job! It's not hard for me. But it can certainly be exhausting. Especially when pregnant!

We also found out that Logan will be in Mrs. Pop's kindergarten class. She is actually also the Language Arts Coordinator for our school (so she helps teachers teach Language Arts). So I am really excited since that is where Logan struggles the most and it's kind of her specialty. I just hope he behaves. He sometimes reverts back in his behavior. It can be quite frustrating.
