It's that time of year! School started on Wednesday, so on Monday, Nate gave us Back-to-School blessings. It was a really sweet experience to be able to start that tradition. After Logan and I got blessings, Kylie jumped up onto the chair and said "My turn!" So of course, Nate gave her one too. It was so sweet. It was good for me to hear the blessings and to remember to see these little ones and God sees them. He sees their potential while at the same time, loving their sweet innocence. Sometimes I forgot how little they are and expect them to be able to do more than they can. And I was so nervous to start my year, but also excited. I was excited to get better at certain things in my teaching and classroom management, but also nervous about what the kids would be like. And Logan was going to Kindergarten! He will be in school about as much as me!
Also on Monday, an amazing thing happened. We were able to see a solar eclipse! I was working (getting my classroom ready) when it was going on and my principal was nice enough to buy all of us the special glasses so we could go see it. Unfortunately, my kids at home did not get to see it using glasses so they just had to take pictures of it and look at it through the pictures. It was kind of eerie outside during that time because we didn't have a complete eclipse (pretty close), but not complete, so it was still light out but had an orangy glow and it was cooler. I couldn't get great pics, but this is what I got.

| This is without the glasses. The eclipse is below that bright light. I'm actually not sure how that bright light got there. |
These are with the special glasses. The pictures don't do it justice. It was really neat!
Tuesday we went to Taco Bell to celebrate the beginning of the school year. We love that we can feed our family for about $10 - $12 there.

That Friday was also Linda's funeral. We went to the viewing and the funeral but skipped out on the burial. It's just too long for our little kids. It was sweet to hear about her.
Nate also had a softball game that night. The Elder's quorum put together a team. Unfortunately the games are all on Friday night though. But it's good for Nate to get out to do something every once in awhile. I'm always leaving for YW activities and meetings.
Saturday was Logan's first soccer game. He has some amazing stamina! He never wanted to sit out! He wanted to play the whole time! But we made him sit out the last quarter. His only problem is that he does too much pushing to try to get to the ball. His coach is good. They came up with the name Green Lizard Fire because their shirts are bright green!
Nate got released as Cub Master and put in as Scout Committee Chairman. I think it's funny that Nate keeps getting these scouting callings when he doesn't even like scouts!
Some random pictures from this week:

| The tie dye we did with the Phelons. Seems to be a tradition! We did pants for Kylie because we couldn't find any plain white shirts in her size at Wal-mart. I think they turned out cute! |
