Other September Happenings

I'm not sure why, but Blogger kept putting this video up here and I can't move it. But anyway, just a silly video of them dancing.

The Thursday after Labor Day, we (the Summers side) went to Pizza Pie Cafe in celebration of Shannon. Shannon was here for a couple of days before Grandma and Grandpa took her up for her first semester at BYU-Idaho. The kids just love "Shanyon" so it will be fun to have her a little closer.

Friday Nate had a softball game where he unfortunately pulled a muscle. He was in a bit of pain for few days. And selfishly I did not want him to be hurt since I am always in pain with this pregnancy! It's no good if neither of us can walk very well! ha ha!

Logan's second soccer game was Saturday. They moved the games from Oak Forest Park to Whitesides Elementary because the grass at the park was parched and dead and scratchy. The grass was nice at Whitesides but the parking is terrible. Logan played well! He wants to be in the game the whole time! We had to talk him into sitting out. His only problem is that he can get a bit rough with pushing. The team he played this time was also rough, so he just kept getting rougher and rougher as the game went on.

The next Saturday (the 16th), Logan had another soccer game and he did better at keeping his hands to himself. That afternoon, Nate and Logan did a one-on-one to Cherry Hill where they did miniature golf and then got Wendy's Frostys afterwards. They had tons of fun! Kylie mostly napped during it.

Kylie hanging out during the games.

That evening there was a Stake "Emergency Preparedness" Activity. Once again, the young women were asked to take care of the kids so I had to be there. But this was a lame activity. Each ward had a team of "runners" that went from one station to the next learning things and practicing things while the rest of us just waiting around for them. I know I didn't learn a thing about emergency preparedness. Then dinner was just a hot dog and chips so I was still hungry afterward. I just wish they would have said that if you were not runner, you didn't need to come. And there were way too many young women to man the stations for the kids (plus the stake), so it all felt worthless. Oh well, hopefully they will learn for next time. And luckily Angela Walker was there (my friend and Alexsis's mom, who is Logan's friend, because she is in the Primary presidency) so we mostly just chatted while manning a station while Nate watched our kids.

The next Saturday (23rd) was Nancy's birthday. She turned 70! Nate wrote a sweet thing about her in his journal which I want to quote "She is a great example of selfless service. I am who I am today because she raised me. I was a priority and a focus of her life. I have always felt like I mattered to her." We celebrated by going to Arctic Circle after Logan's soccer game for lunch, then went to the Summers' house for ice cream and presents. That evening was the Women's Conference. All of us ladies 8 and older went to the Summers' church to watch it.
I'll finish up September in the next post.

The kids were playing with Lincoln Logs, Duplos, and blocks and needed pictures taken of their creations.

Had to take a video too. ha ha!
We were going through the newborn cloths so I could start soaking them and washing them and found this little Santa hat. So of course, Logan had to put it on.
