5 Months Old!

Logan turned 5 months old on November 15th. It is really so amazing to look back at newborn pictures and see how much he has changed!

He has a lot of hair now that is long enough for him to play with while I'm changing his clothes. It's so cute when he does because his arms are so short (as baby arms are) so he can barely reach the top of his head! But he does and he twirls his hair in his fingers. The hair is still pretty light but it seems to be getting darker again.

Logan also has found his toes and plays with them while getting his diaper changed. It makes getting the diaper on a bit of a challenge, but I shouldn't complain. I know that once he starts crawling, the issue will be keeping him still! He plays with them at other times too, especially when we are practicing sitting up. He's getting pretty good at it. He sits really well on our laps and in the boppy. I'm sure it won't be long until he won't need the boppy anymore. He still doesn't rollover very well. Only in his crib. Except one time when he rolled off the couch. Poor guy! I think it scared him more than it hurt him. But now we know not to leave him unsupervised on the couch.

Logan is eating solids really well! He isn't picky at all and eats anything I put into his mouth. So far, he has had sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, and pears (along with rice or oatmeal cereal). He has recently started chomping on the spoon. I'm thinking he sees that we chew when we eat, so he thinks that's what he's supposed to do!

Logan is on a schedule now with naps. He wakes up at about 7 (if he wakes up earlier, I leave him in the crib until 7). Then takes his first nap at 9. He goes down for his second nap anywhere from 12:30 to 1 and his third nap takes place anywhere from 3-4. Bedtime is still 7 to 7:30 and he still wakes up once a night to be fed. He usually takes one long nap a day. However, it is always a different one so it is still hard to plan when I can leave to do things. His "normal" naps are about 35-50 min long and his long nap is 1-2 hours long.

I'm not sure when it happened, but I can tell that Logan knows how to play with his different toys now. Ones that rattle, he shakes and often drops and ones for teething, he puts in his mouth. He loves to look at books and tries to put them in his mouth while I read to him before naps and bedtime.

Logan has started to become possessive. He sometimes cries when I take a toy away because I have to get him dressed or I'm moving him somewhere or something. He tries to hold the spoon while I feed him and sometimes he cries when I take it out of his hand. Oh boy! I didn't realize this stage would start so early!
