Happy Halloween!

I got Logan's costume at a consignment sale a couple months before. The costumes were actually all new so they must've been donated by a Halloween store from last year or something so it was a great deal! He was our little green dragon.

Every year, they have a Halloween party at the law school for families so this time we actually got to go! There was pizza and desserts and lots of games for kids. However, Logan was too small for all the games so we basically went there to chat with friends and for the free food. It was actually a really warm day and it was burning hot in the law school so most of the time, I had the costume unzipped. I thought about dressing up either as a viking (How to Train your Dragon) or as the lady from Pete's Dragon, but I never got around to buying a viking helmet and I figured most people probably don't know Pete's Dragon as well as I do. After I got to the Law School, I was glad I didn't dress up because most of the adults didn't.

I had to unzip it because of how hot it was
He was too entertained with the buckle to look at the camera

On Halloween, our ward was doing a Trunk-or-Treat so I was planning on taking Logan, but he wasn't having very long naps and the Trunk-or-Treat started at his bedtime so I decided to stay home and put him to bed instead. I did get him dressed again just to take a couple more pictures. It was also a really rainy day because Hurricane Sandy came through PA the night before. Many cities had to postpone their trick-or-treating because of the hurricane. Because of that, I decided to look up if Canton would be postponing ours but I discovered that the official trick-or-treating day is actually always the Sunday before Halloween from 3-5pm. Whoops! We missed that! It was rainy that day, and all succeeding days, because of the hurricane. We didn't get any trick-or-treaters at that time so we had a whole bag of candy just for us!

Nate was still at school and I wanted a picture with Logan, so I set up
my camera on his dresser and knelt down
This way, you also get a look at his crib!

Speaking of the hurricane, the day(s) that it came through PA, it was extremely windy here. I was sure we would wake up without power in the morning so I made sure I had Logan in his warmest pajamas and I was even thinking that we might need to put him in bed with us. Well, the next morning, we still had power and pretty soon the wind died down and we still had power. There was so much damage done in other places and my heart goes out to them as they are still trying to get power on and get their lives back in order. However, it did make me realize how important it is for us to start getting a food storage as well as a 72 hour kit. Being responsible for a baby now makes things like that seem more urgent. And then Obama being reelected has made it seem more urgent for us to get going on having a larger savings account. So we are doing our best at saving a little at a time and on buying a little extra for certain foods every once in awhile. Hopefully we will be prepared when we need to be!
