We didn't take any pictures on my birthday, but it was my fault. I didn't want to do candles, and just didn't get the camera when I opened presents. I did have a great birthday though! We decided that instead of getting a bunch of small gifts of things we don't necessarily need for birthdays and Christmas, we wanted to get something bigger and nicer. So we decided to get a Kindle Fire that will be our gifts for Christmas and Nate's next birthday. It was perfect timing, because the new one just came out so that made the older one cheaper. So we got the original Kindle Fire and I got to buy a book for it as well. We decided we can each buy a book for Christmas and birthdays as well. It's great though because there are a lot of free books and you can get some books on it from the library, so I don't think we'll run out of things to read even if we're only buying 2 a year (at this point). My mom gave me some nice shirts, which was great because some of my shirts are too small (still haven't lost all the baby fat) so my wardrobe is limited. And I got money from Nate's parents and they told me I had to spend it on something fun, so I bought a blender! We received a Magic Bullet for our wedding, but it really didn't work that well. It took a long time to make a smoothie. So now I have a great blender that blends things up in a snap!
We also went to a Chinese Buffet for dinner the day before and Nate made me chocolate syrup cake. So good! Other than that, it was a pretty normal conference weekend, listening to the great talks. Except that we now had a baby to take care of, so I did have to miss part of some talks to put him down for naps. But it did make it so those talks about families applied more than ever. I thoroughly enjoyed my birthday!
