16 Months Old!

Just practicing for law school one day!
My big boy turned 16 months old a few weeks ago. He actually had his doctor's appointment on his birthday (month day?).

He weighs 22.8 pounds - about 15th percentile
Height - 30 1/4 in - about 17th percentile
Head - 70th percentile

I think that's right. I actually don't remember very well. I usually put a note in my phone after they do the weighing but I must've forgotten. I do remember Logan was really busy exploring all over the room before the doctor showed up so I was distracted. Oh funny thing, the doctor said that when he sees babies that are so pale he worries that they might have something wrong with them, but he checked his eyelids and everything was pink and healthy so Logan is just extremely white. I mean, how could he not be with the parents he has?
Made a blanket fort one day, he mostly enjoyed going in and out of it but it successfully entertained him
New words Logan says: socks "sah," TV, teeth, eye (he can point to any and all eyes while saying it, it's just a bit dangerous when he is pointing at mine!),he also knows where noses are, three (which means he wants to get up on something because I always count 1, 2, 3, before I pick him up and put him on something like the couch), done, gone, juice, cold "co", hot "ha", duck says "quack quack," kitty says "meow," bird says "twee twee," cow says "mmm," snake says "ssss," I might be missing some but that's all I can think of right now. Basically, I can usually figure out what he wants or needs nowadays, which is so great and makes both of us happier!
I finally have a picture of him sleeping. It always amazes me the kinds of positions they can sleep in!
Logan has gotten a little better with naps. They almost always last for longer than an hour now.  Wahoo! It seriously helps me so much! However, he likes to prolong bedtime/naptime by trying to get us to read lots of books to him or by running away and hiding in his closet or behind the rocking chair.
Super Logan! Playing with a cape (and playing the piano) while I teach piano lessons
Logan has gotten tall enough to climb onto our coffee table and the kitchen table chairs so that's been a blast. He's definitely a busy boy and it's pretty much a full time job keeping him entertained and out of trouble!
Feeding the ducks (he actually threw them the bread this time instead of eating it). This was probably the last time we went to the park. It's gotten cold since then.

Logan got his first paper cut this last month. He was looking at a family photo album and sliced it. It obviously hurt him and it bled pretty bad and I realized it would have been easier if our band-aids were more accessible! Luckily Nate was home. It would've been really difficult not to get blood everywhere if he wasn't there to help! After we got the band-aid on, he was pretty distraught and felt like he couldn't use that hand anymore! He kept trying to take it off. But we managed to keep it on until he went to bed and sometime during the night he took it off. But it had stopped bleeding by then.
I thought it was funny that he climbed in the middle of his pile of toys to play. It makes it look like he has a ton of toys, but honestly almost all of it is second-hand and that is pretty much all of it right there!
Another funny story, we were playing with play-doh (salt dough that I had made) and I often have to remind Logan not to eat it. Well, he got a pretty big chunk in his mouth as I was telling him not to and he realized how disgusting it really is and just started crying! I tried to get him to spit it out and then tried to get him to take a drink, but to no avail. He just cried and cried and kept his mouth open! Finally I was able to distract him by turning on Super Why and he took a drink. It really was kind of funny since I had warned him repeatedly. The good news is, he hasn't eaten anymore since!

And one more funny story: we used to go on walks everyday but we have stopped pretty much because of this experience. He went to the trunk of the car because that is where the stroller is so I figured he wanted to do a long walk instead of just hang out in front (which we do sometimes). I got the stroller out, but he wouldn't sit down in it. I figured out he just wanted to push it. So I decided that was alright and we would just walk a shorter distance.Well he started getting frustrated because I was steering so he wanted to be held so he could push from the handle. Now I know I don't have the strength to walk around the block with him in one arm so I can help steer the stroller in the other, so I wouldn't pick him up. After crying for a bit, he saw the basket under the stroller and decided to climb into it. But when he tried to get out, he was stuck! "Stu, stu!" So I helped him out after I snapped the picture. It was too funny! Needless to say, I did end up forcing the poor kid to sit in the stroller and strapped him in so then we went for a longer walk. The neighbors probably thought I was torturing him with all the crying he was doing, but he eventually stopped and enjoyed himself.
Video of Logan saying his animal sounds

This is actually an older picture from a birthday party for a little boy who turned one a couple of months ago. Logan loved the ball pit that he got!
But he is still a very happy, excitable, social boy! He's my little buddy!
