County Fair and Stake Fair

We were able to go to the Davis County Fair in August with Grandma and Grandpa Summers and the Gees. Probably the best part of the fair is the pony rides and next comes the petting zoo. Nate actually got there a bit later, with the Gees, since he was coming straight from work. But Kylie needs to get to bed by 7 to be happy, so I wanted to get there a little earlier. So we started with the chickens, rabbits (where he was able to pet one), and the petting zoo to make sure we got those in. This time, the animals were all in separate cages instead of roaming around in one giant cage. It made it less scary, (not that Logan is every scared) but a bit harder to actually pet the animals. Logan loved it, as always. Then while Logan and I stood in line for the pony ride, Steve and Nancy took care of Kylie and walked around with her. He did a great job on the pony and I didn't feel the need to hold onto him like I did last year. He hung on tight.

Nate and the Gees joined in around this time and we went to a science tent that had a vacuum thing with balls going in and out of it. The kids were really loving running around to put the balls in and to watch them until they popped out. Then we went to this tent with a coloring wall. Logan didn't care to color for very long.

Last of all, we bought a couple of tickets so Logan could ride one ride. He chose this car ride. I think he felt big "driving" a car all by himself.

Logan thoroughly enjoyed himself, but Kylie was ready to be done by the end.

The next day, our Stake was having a fair. It sounded like they have been planning this for months and they really wanted it to be an activity to invite nonmembers to. And this was actually probably more fun for Logan than the county fair was. Every ward had a stand with some sort of game/activity for kids. Our ward did sword fighting with foam swords. But Logan's favorite activity was probably the rockets. He was able to build a rocket out of paper (using a pvc pipe for the form), and then they shot them off of these air pressure things. They would go so high! Sometimes he got to push the button to make his go off too. He had so much fun with this and probably would've stayed there all night long, but there were plenty of other booths to visit and snacks to eat. We were each able to get popcorn, cotton candy, and drinks for free. I think we could've gotten corn on the cob too, but we never did that. I didn't get any pictures from the fair, but I think they did a good job on it. Logan certainly enjoyed himself.
