My Birthday!

October 7 I turned 30! Crazy! I still can't believe I'm 30. We actually celebrated the day before because the Summers work at the temple on Wednesdays and my birthday was on a Wednesday. Nate was awesome and took a half day off of work. So we dropped the kids off at the Summers and went out to eat a late lunch at The Cantina and a movie. We had a little time before the movie started, so we also went to the mall and I bought some jeans that I was really in need of. The movie was Inside Out. It was really cute and even made me teary. I could relate to the little girl since I experienced moving away from friends when I was a teenager and I honestly have not had the same extremely happy personality ever since then. Part of it is because I have matured, but part of it was that move. But I learned a lot and it's okay to be sad sometimes.

Nate made me a chocolate syrup cake the next day on my actual birthday and our family sang to me and ate some cake and ice cream. I can't remember if we actually let Kylie eat any of the cake or if we just gave her something like yogurt bites. I got a spice rack from Nate and a food processor from my parents and money from Nate's parents. I used that money for the jeans I bought at the mall. It was a fun, relaxing birthday. Honestly, just getting dates without the kids is a great celebration for me! As much as I love them, it's nice to have adult time.

Our cuties excited to celebrate mommy's birthday

The next day, we went to get flu shots at Nate's work. Logan was a rockstar and barely flinched. Kylie got her flu shot at her doctor's office so we didn't need to worry about her. We also quickly visited Nate's office and then went down to Missy's house to do the Family History/Scrapbooking day. My mom and her sisters do it every Thursday and every once in awhile, Missy invites everyone to her house so she can be involved too. I think she likes it when Tiffany and I come too so that the kids can play. And since I was already going to SLC, I figured I might as well drive a little further  and do that too.

Then Friday, Logan got sick with the stomach flu and Nate and I got sick on Saturday. We didn't throw up, just felt sick to our stomachs. But Logan definitely threw up. Poor boy. He's always so sweet when he's sick though.
