The next day, for Family Home Evening, the Gees, Cederlofs, and Grandma and Grandpa went to see the Layton park lights. It's always a fun thing to do because the lights are in the shapes of animals and some of the lights make it look like the animals are moving. The kids always have a blast. We always meet at Burger King first then head to the park and walk around. Then some do the driving path as well.
On Saturday, we had our ward Christmas breakfast. It was pretty chill with just a breakfast (I made a breakfast casserole for it) and background music. I actually played the piano for a bit to provide that background music. They also had a "stable" set up out of cardboard with crayons for the kids to color on. Logan spent most of his time over there playing with the kids.
After that, we went to Bowman's Grocery store so Logan and Kylie could sit on Santa's lap. While Logan and Nate waited in line, Kylie and I did the grocery shopping. Even after we were done, we still had to wait in line for awhile. But it was worth it. Logan told Santa he wanted more train tracks because his set is pretty small and Kylie just cried. She just gets nervous around certain people and Santa is one of them.
| Poor Santa. He doesn't seem to know quite what to do. |
I have some professional pictures, but it looks like I haven't scanned them in yet. I'll have to do that later.
Later that afternoon we got a piano! Someone from Tooele was getting rid of a piano so my mom asked if she could take it for her daughter and they said yes! So my parents brought it over on their trailer and Nate, Nate's dad, my dad, and our home teacher brought it in. It wasn't too bad because they just had to bring it straight through the door a few feet. It feels good to have a piano in our house and I enjoy playing it when I get the chance. The kids also enjoy playing it. Logan does a pretty good job of not pounding on it but trying to make actual music.
I can't remember exactly when we put up our Christmas tree, but it was probably the week before this. We had to move one of our couches downstairs, so seating is limited, but you have to have a tree during Christmas time!
