The Holidays

The day after Christmas, we took it easy and just let the kids play at home. We also went to Kohls because we thought they would put a watch band on a watch (I got Nate a new watch band for Christmas) since we bought them both there, but they didn't. So that night, I watched some youtube videos on how to change watch bands, and after some work, I finally got it!

On Monday, we went to see the light at Temple Square with Nate's parents. Originally, the plan was for Cindy and Debbie's families to come, but it turned out it was just the grandparents and us. We met Nate at the food court (he just went there after work), then we walked around to see the lights and the candy displays at City Creek. I didn't get any pictures.

On Wednesday we did that again but with my side of the family. Angie actually was in town so it was fun to have them with us as well as Missy's family and my parents. Before Nate got off work, we went to the Church History Museum since it was newly remodeled. Then we met up with Nate again and ate dinner. Then we went to Temple Square. It was a pretty cold night so we went into visitor center. Everyone decided to go up to see the Christus and hear the presentation there. Kylie had fallen asleep so I decided to stay down with her. Plus, my back was sore and I didn't want to stand. Well, they were gone a really long time and I was wondering what had happened. Finally, they came back down and said they had seen multiple movies. I was a little annoyed that they just did that without telling me, but I was the one who decided to stay down. Anyway, after walking around Temple Square, we went to the Grand America Hotel because they have these Christmas window displays (plus we parked there). The kids were getting really tired by this point so we went through it fast and left before everyone else was done. Once we got to the car and got Kylie out of the stroller, we noticed she had had a major blow out. That was a fun way to end the day. So she ended up going home in just a diaper and her sweat shirt.

Easton, Spencer, and Logan
Thursday was New Years Eve. We went to Missy's house. We got there earlier in the day so we were there for Sienna to get her newborn pictures. Most of the kids went sledding so that the house would be quiet for the pictures so that Sienna would sleep. But for some reason Logan didn't want to go. So Nate took Logan and Avery downstairs to play. Apparently it was pretty hard to keep them downstairs and happy. Pretty soon Spencer came back from sledding early so Nate had to watch him too. I guess there were a few issues down there so Nate was glad when the pictures were over and all the parents were back. That evening, we put the kids to bed and played games until midnight. Then we woke our kids up and drove back home. They invited us to stay, but I didn't want to figure out sleeping arrangements when there were already so many people there. The kids were good about getting woken up.

Friday was the Stout Family party, my mom's side of the family. We had dinner at my Aunt Doralyn's barn. I always struggle a little more at these reunions because most of my cousins are so much older than me, but we had fun. We left early so we could get our kids to bed before they got too ornery.

Sunday was Logan's first day of Sunbeams! He did a great job! The teachers said he and Alexis were the best kids in the class. He was all smiles because he just felt so big to be a part of primary.

He looks so cute in his bow tie
