We have many very artistic girls in our ward, so we decided to have them paint canvases to demonstrate what they had accomplished in YWs that year. I thought it turned out really well! They all did an awesome job! Before the activity, we had an activity to splash paint the table cloths for the decorations. At first, we were trying to pop balloons on it, but it wasn't working very well, so we ended up just splashing paint on. But it was a fun activity as well.
I made the rice krispie treats that kind of looked like paint brushes. We had all sorts of sugary treats! I gave some sort of talk as well, but I honestly can't remember what it was on now. We had some girls talk about their paintings. Rachel is extremely shy and had hers all written down, but she did it! I was proud of her! Her little sister, unfortunately, just cried so her mom had to talk for her.
That weekend, we went to Boondocks to bowl and Grannie Annie's for dinner (a breakfast diner that has amazing scones!)
Nate's work "broke" (Kylie's words). They had put some chemical in the pipes to clean them, and it ended up breaking the seals of the pipes, so they had people stay home on Friday and Monday while they fixed and cleaned up everything. During this time, Nate went to Costco with his dad and got a new computer for his Christmas present (it was very needed). His old computer was 6 years old and had issues.
On Thursday, Logan had a little assembly for his reflections. Mrs. Ortiz always has her whole class enter the reflections contest, so they had a separate assembly for it. The theme was something about heroes so Logan drew a picture of Fire Fighters. Unfortunately, I could not squeeze in close enough to get a good group picture. Too many parents. There was ice cream after the awards.
Saturday, we had Tithing settlement and Logan and Nate went to Dartside for their one-on-one. I can't remember what Kylie and I did.
The next week, I was able to go to Savior of the World with the YM/YW. It was a neat experience. Unfortunately, we couldn't all sit together, but it was still a good experience.
I got a Roomba for my early Christmas present. It is life changing! It can vacuum a room, while I clean a bathroom, while laundry is going, and dishes are going, all at the same time! Technology is amazing! Sometimes it gets stuck on things and sometimes it spends too much time or not enough time in room, but overall, it is awesome!
So Nate and I already have our Christmas presents, but that's ok. Christmas is more fun for the kids anyway.
Ethan loves to "play" the Wii-U with Logan. It's darling!
