Other December Happenings

On Monday the 10th, we went to see the Layton City lights for Family Home Evening, like we do every year. They have lots of animals made out of lights so it's always fun and festive.

On Wednesday, Kylie and I played in the snow while Ethan napped and built a snowman. That evening, I went to "This is the Place" with all the youth. It's like a little old pioneer town so you got to learn some history as you went in some of the buildings and in the barn, was Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. A few of the youth learned a dance.

Friday the 21st was the Davis Christmas party. We exchanged gifts, had a yummy dinner, and the nativity program. The BYU bowl game happened to be that day as well, so Nate watched that while I drove down to my parents:) Then he finished off the game while he was there. We got a game called Torres from JJ's family, Nate got Spike ball from parents, which we still haven't played too much since our kids are still a bit small for it. It was a fun Christmas party though. The kids had fun playing with their cousins. We liked that it was before Christmas so we didn't have to stress out trying to drive down there on Christmas day. This will also be the last Christmas that my parents will be here before their mission.

I got a Christmas cookie cutter as a teacher gift so the kids really wanted to decorate cookies. I am not a fan of all the work sugar cookies are, especially since I don't love to eat them, so I decided to invite others to make it more worth it. I invited the Gees and the Cederlofs and asked them to bring toppings. The kids had lots of fun being creative, so it was fun.

Kylie got slippers from Grandma Davis and she accidentally wore them to church! I was a bit embarrassed that I didn't notice until we were already there!
