Lava Hot Springs

This was the year for a Davis Family Reunion, and we thought that our parents would be on their mission by now, so us kids had planned the whole thing. We decided to see what the fuss was all about up at Lava Hot Springs. We started the trip by meeting at Soda Springs. It was a po dunk little park, but it was pretty cool how it comes out of the ground clean and carbonated. We bought some flavored drink mixes (orange and grape Fanta) to mix with it and it was pretty good! Unfortunately, it was really cold though. It was raining/hailing/sleeting on and off and I didn't pack very warm clothes for us. I was thinking it was Summer!

Because I was so cold, we decided to eat lunch at Arctic Circle. Everyone else went to a park to eat. We met them there when we were done, then we headed to the geyser that is in Soda Springs. It's an off shoot of the geysers from Yellowstone. I guess the people were searching for a spot to make a hot spring pool, and it ended up blasting into the air! It was messing with Old Faithful (making Old Faithful smaller) so they had to put a cap on it and now the cap comes off every hour to let out the pressure and out shoots the geyser...all over the cars! Our cars were all dirty for the rest of the time after that. ha ha! After that, we went to the house. It was huge! And had a nice yard for the kids to play in as well. They had a blast!

That evening, we did our biannual Lip Sync Battle! It was super fun! We did "Inside Out" by Eve 6. My mom seemed a bit shocked that I would know that song so well. Ha ha! But that was why we chose that song, because we already knew the lyrics quite well! Logan was playing drums and Kylie was playing guitar. Nate and I were singers.

The next day was Sunday and we went to a local ward. I think we overwhelmed them a bit with so many of us! After that, we hung out at the house playing games, playing outside, doing family pictures, then eating s'mores.

On Monday, we went to Lava Hot Springs. The springs had different pools with varying temperatures. The hottest one was, I think, 120 something degrees. No one lasted long in that pool. The coolest one was around 109, I think. That was the one that people spent the most time in. After relaxing in those pools for awhile, we ate lunch, then headed down to the pool that had water slides, diving boards, and places to swim. We spent most of our time at the indoor pool in the Kiddie area. Nate and I did take turns doing the slides. That evening, we had to leave because I had a training the next day. I was getting paid some pretty good money for it so I didn't want to miss it.
