Grandma's Stay

I already posted the pictures for this post, but I figured I should journal about it as well. So my mom had her airplane tickets to come on the due date, June 18th, and it turned out to be perfect timing. That was the day I got out of the hospital. It was certainly a huge blessing to have her here since I had a c-section. Her first full day here, she cleaned the apartment and made a delicious meal. She also took Logan in the morning so I could get some extra sleep. This turned out to be a daily thing, the Logan part. She would take Logan when he woke up around 6-7am and I would go back to sleep. She also always made delicious meals for lunch and dinner and even made extra meals for when she would be gone. She went grocery shopping and got yummy breads and fruits and things that I don't normally get because they are too expensive. So we were living large!

We didn't do a whole lot while she was here, but we did go to the McKinley Memorial so my mom could see a little bit of Canton. We drove by the Football Hall of Fame too, of course. I also had WIC appointments and Doctor's appointments. And since I couldn't drive or lift too much weight, my mom took me everywhere. She taught me how to give him a bath and it was nice to have a second opinion about things from someone who has had 5 children herself and has helped all her daughters with their newborn babies. I really don't know if we could have done it without her! Nate was home, but he still had to work (from home) so I would've been mostly on my own or else Nate just wouldn't have gotten much work done.

As for Logan, he left the hospital having lost 9% of his body weight so it was important that we got his weight up fast. I supplemented more and pumped as much as I could and at his first doctor's appointment, which was only 3 days after we got home, he was almost back up to his birth weight. I can't exactly remember his stats, but he was in the teens except for his head which I think was in the 40s. But we were really happy about that. He slept really great for a newborn. We would put him to bed around 11, he would wake up somewhere from 3-4, then he would wake up somewhere from 6-7.  Other than that, he was pretty normal, sleeping a lot, pooping, and eating. He's also very cuddly. We absolutely love him!
