Logan's Rash

My poor baby's face
On Monday, August 12th, I noticed Logan had a little bit of a rash on his belly. I wasn't sure whether or not to be worried because he's been getting heat rash pretty often when it's hot and humid so I thought I would give it a day or two. Well by Wednesday, it was gone so I figured all was fine and we went Visiting Teaching on Thursday. Then Thursday night, it came back and was now on his legs as well as his back and belly. So I decided I should probably call the doctor in the morning.
I kept trying to get a good picture of his face but for some reason, it never looked as bad on camera as it was in real-life
So on Friday morning, Logan was not acting like himself. He was very irritable, which is strange for him. He usually acts normal when he is sick but this time, all he wanted to do was watch TV and every little thing that didn't go quite the way he wanted or expected was a huge deal. So I called the doctor and got an appointment. He checked Logan and asked lots of questions and said that the rash was a reaction to the chicken pox vaccination he had a month ago. That really surprised me because it had been so long ago! And a couple of days after his vaccination, he actually had a few chicken pox (like 3 or 4) on his belly and back that went away the next day so I thought we were past all that. But I guess since Logan had had a couple of colds practically back-to-back, his immune system just couldn't fight it all.

Unfortunately, we couldn't really do anything for it except give him some Tylenol to help make him more comfortable. And even more unfortunate, it turns out it was contagious and the daughter of the woman we visit taught got a chicken pox-like rash even though she had been vaccinated! I felt really bad about that but she was really nice about it. But after discovering that, we kind of quarantined Logan until he seemed to be better. It lasted from Thursday night until Monday, but the worst days were Friday and Saturday. I just felt so bad for him. Every time I looked at his red splotchy face! But he was a trooper and we made it through.
