13 Months Old!

Logan's been really into making an "O"
Logan had his Doctor's appointment on his 13 month birthday. Basically, he's gotten really skinny! We could kind of tell because when we pick him up, we can feel his ribs. But he eats a lot more than the doctor said a baby his age should, so I'm not worried. I'm sure he just has skinny genes. About eating, he is still pickier than he used to be. There will be times when he won't even try what we're having for dinner and it's really frustrating. It's tempting to just always feed him toast, chicken nuggets, fish sticks, hot dogs, and fruit. It makes me appreciate my mom all the more for cooking great meals even though we would turn up our noses at them all too often!

Stats:
Weight: 21 pounds - 12th percentile
Height: 29 1/2 inches - 24th percentile

Logan walking about 2 weeks before his birthday
I had to do a couple of the videos through YouTube. Not sure what's going on with Blogger right now

This month we were just waiting in anticipation for the day when we could really say that he is walking. He spent the entire month taking steps between furniture and sometimes between Nate and I, but he still preferred to crawl. He did do a really good job at the Doctor's office. The doctor took Logan to the other side of the room (Logan was crying and wondering what was going on) and put him down and said to walk to mommy. And he did! Across the whole room! With tears streaming down his face! I guess he was scared the Doctor was going to take off with him!
Found the graham crackers! One of his favorites.
His 13th and 14th teeth started coming in right around is 13 month birthday. So he has 4 molars (both top and bottom) and is starting to fill in those gaps between the front teeth and the back teeth. He is back to biting a lot (and not just biting toys) so I'm thinking once he gets in all his teeth he might stop that. He is also back to grinding his teeth. Gives me the goosebumps.
Found the Kix! After something like this happened a few times, I decided to switch shelves and put
the cereal and graham crackers higher and now the cans are there. Of course he throws those on the floor.
As for talking, I think the only new word we've added is Jesus. We have a large picture in our living room of Him and we probably only told Logan His name twice and he caught on! Babies seem to catch on to that one really easily. They must have some sort of remembrance or something. Every once in awhile, he will randomly point to it and say 'Zesus, Zesus." So cute!
He climbed into the laundry basket all by himself and played in there for a bit
He is better at watching TV now and can almost get through a whole Baby Einstein's video. I also turn on PBS at the end of the day (after about 4:30) and he watches pretty good. It makes it easier to make dinner. Even though he does usually end up coming into the kitchen and crying until I pick him up. I've gotten better and doing things one handed!

Logan loves music! He always tunes in to something on TV when there is singing. This is Music & the Spoken Word. And he often gets really into it with dancing. That's my boy!

Logan is now down to one nap a day. I do often put him down in his crib for his "morning nap" just so I can shower, get ready, and read my scriptures. But he rarely falls asleep. His afternoon nap usually lasts about an hour. I get lucky (and get so much done) if he sleeps longer than that! It is really hard for me to feel like I have accomplished anything in a day when I really only have that short window of time (and after he goes to bed) because I can't do anything without Logan wanting to join me. So sometimes I get a frustrated. But I have to remind myself that being a mom and playing with him is more important than getting the house clean, cooking a great meal, and doing crafts.

In his 1 year old post, I talked about how he goes down the stairs facing forward, well here is a video of that.

A couple of pictures of Logan playing with the toys Grandma & Grandpa Davis got him for his birthday (or we got him with the money she sent! Thanks!)
