Nate went with Logan on his last preschool field trip. They went to Cal Ranch to see the baby chicks and Joe's Nursery. Joe's is actually owned by a family in our ward and the wife is my laurel adviser. So they are just really good people. The teacher had each student pick out a flower for her to buy and plant at her house/preschool. Logan only has 5 more days of preschool left. Logan can write his name and knows many of the letters and all of his numbers and shapes. The best thing though has been his improvement with behavior. In the beginning of preschool, he was often going into time out and rarely getting stickers (they could get up to 3 stickers in a day if they were really good and if they got 10 stickers, then they got a prize). By the end, he almost always got stickers. Usually 2 stickers. So we are really happy with that improvement!
Amy came to visit and brought Evie, her grandchild, with her. It has been 3 years since she has come to Utah and that was our first time meeting Evie. Kylie and Evie didn't get along too well since Kylie thinks all the toys at grandma's house are hers. She isn't very good at sharing. Something we are for sure working on. And Evie followed Amy around everywhere and never wanted to be in a room without Amy. But it was a really good visit. Stephanie was also able to come (and left her kids at home). So when I was done with work, we often were over at Grandma and Grandpa's house to chat and eat lunch and the kids played with their Utah cousins and Evie. Since Nate was working, he was mostly just able to join us for dinner. But he did take Wednesday off since that is his half day of work anyway, so he was only missing a half day and we all went to Grandma Hill's house. I got there later than everyone else since I went there after work. The adults chatted while the kids played outside in Grandma Hill's huge yard. They also enjoyed looking at the animals at Uncle Doug's house. They have horses and goats. They just got a shetland pony too whose hooves were all weird looking. They were overgrown and curled up. I guess they were taking it to a vet soon so the hooves could be filed down.
Evie piling toys on grandpa. I guess he looked bored.
We also went to the Hogle Zoo. I had no idea that they do shows with some of their animals! For some reason, I have never seen them before this trip. But we were able to see an elephant show and a seal show. They were both awesome! It's just so amazing to see animals perform tricks on command. Even the baby elephant already knew some tricks! But the mother was definitely better. Grandma was awesome and bought all the kids ice cream (Kylie made a huge mess with hers) and all the adults drinks.
Monkey
Giraffes and Ostrich
Logan had his hand right up against this animal's hand. They were touching hands! But had glass between them. I believe it was a type of monkey, but I can't remember for sure.
Elephant
Don't ask me why I didn't get a picture or video of the Elephant's performance, because it was great!
Rhinos
Logan started T-ball officially. It's pretty low key where all of the kids get to bat and run the bases. No one gets out. They are just learning the game. The first game, Logan seemed a bit confused about what to do and had low energy (which really isn't like him), but after that he did much better and even started making friends with the other boys on his team.
