Mother's Day!

The day before Mother's Day, all of the adults in Utah on my side of the family went out to eat at Buca di Beppo to celebrate my mom. It is yummy Italian food and you eat it family style. So one dish will feed at least 2 people. We actually paid for a babysitter and hired Milan, our neighbor from next door. Nate's parents were working at the conference center. She did a good job of playing with the kids so we will definitely hire her again. It was a good time just being together and conversing.

The next day was the real Mother's Day! It is so fun to have a child in primary so that when the primary gets up to sing, there is one who is actually singing to me! I love it! Logan did a great job. My little family gave me some cute cards and gifts. I'm all about getting useful gifts and I believe it was this year that they gave me a nice ice cream scoop and one of those triangle can opener things (I can't remember what they are called). And Nate took over mom duty. We went to Nate's parent's house and all of the men made the food. Nate did the dessert (peanut butter bars). They did a really good job. It all tasted great!

I am certainly grateful for all of the wonderful mother examples I have in my life. Particularly my mom. As a mom, it certainly makes you appreciate everything that your mother did. But even more importantly, the fact that she always gave me such confidence. With the personality that I have, I could've easily had low self-esteem and been even more shy then I already am, but I know my mom helped to push me out of my shell at times and was always ready with compliments. Other amazing mothers in my life are my mother-in-law, sisters, and sister-in-laws, Grandma Hill, and my grandma that has passed. All great examples!
