Other April Happenings

Logan started T-Ball. At least, they had a T-Ball practice anyway. They postponed the beginning of the season because it has been rainy all week. And because of that, only 3 out of the 8 kids showed up for practice. Logan got some one-on-one time with the coach. He is a good coach. He definitely knows the game. But he probably would be even better with older kids. I think sometimes he expects more from these 4 year olds then they are capable of. But other than that, he is good and patient with them.

Logan had a field trip to Wheeler Farm. Nate went on the field trip with him and brought Kylie along. It luckily wasn't raining that day. They went on a hay ride, did a tour, had a picnic lunch, and let the kids play on the playground. I think their favorite part about the animals was 2 calves that were running around and chasing each other. There were also some baby lambs (and their adult sheep), cows, horses, pigs, turkey, and chickens.

After the field trip, Nate took the kids to his work where he waited until I was done with work and could come pick them up. It sounds like the office had lots of fun entertaining our little ones. One took them to the vending machines to pick out a treat, one brought out a stash of toys that she keeps in her office for kids, and others just came over and chatted for a bit. It was quite the party when I got there! ha ha!

Here are some random pictures from April.
Pictures with Charlie. Because we have to do those every few months.

Logan likes taking pictures of his toys. There were a bunch more, but we only need so many.

On a Wednesday in April, we walked outside and saw this running down the street. And this water did not smell that great. The kids wanted to investigate (and I was curious too) so we walked up the street a ways and saw a large amount of water bubbling up out of the sewer. So a pipe must have broken. I decided I better call Layton city about it and they had already heard. A Layton city truck came by and told me that they couldn't do anything about it because apparently our HOA owns the pipes (which is weird since we pay Layton utilities). But he told me to call our HOA and to tell my neighbors to do so as well. So I did. Anyway, to make a long story short, in order to fix the problem, they had to shut off our water. So it was interesting to live on our water storage. We were fine in the way of drinking water, it was the toilet flushing water that was the problem. Before shut off, I was able to fill a couple of pitchers, but that just doesn't cut it with a toilet. Luckily, we were able to borrow some from a neighbor who still had water. I had Young Woman's that night and she is the Laurel Adviser and offered her help. Nate also had pack meeting that night. So we all were able to use the bathroom before going back home. And luckily the water was back on in the morning so we could shower and have a normal day. But it was quite the adventure and a good lesson on water storage.
She can't ride the bike yet, she's too short. But since Logan got a new one, she had to try his old one.

Nate took Logan on a one-on-one to the Rush Complex. I think we had some sort of a deal. And afterwards they went to Arctic Circle for some ice cream.

Kylie wearing her new hat. She had to have one since Logan has some. Even though she only wears it for a minute.
