Hiking Timp Cave and Logan's Birthday!

This was a busy week (June 11-17). The kids and I spent Monday and Tuesday in Utah County with my family. Angie had originally planned to be here during this time, but she had a miscarriage and just couldn't physically make the trip. And I don't blame her. She needs rest. But we had reservations to hike Timp Cave so that's what we did. My mom was nice and stayed home with Ethan and Kylie so it was Logan and me with Grandpa, the Collettes, the Hancocks, and the Davis's. Logan was an awesome hiker! I did ok too, despite the fact that I am working on getting in shape after having Ethan and having all the back issues. The cave was really neat too. I hadn't been there since I was a kid so it was really cool to see it and learn about how caves are formed. They had a moment when they turned off all the lights for second to show how pitch black a cave is and a little girl in our group cried because she was scared. After the hike, the sisters got pedicures with my mom for Mother's Day. It was my first pedicure and it was a really nice place with massage chairs! It was so nice! Unfortunately, that night was an awful night for Ethan though. He cried off and on most of the night. He is such a bad sleeper.

At home, Nate ate dinner Monday night with his parents. Then he came home and did laundry (such a good man!).

Friday was Logan's birthday. We decided to have his birthday party at Dartside in the Layton Hills mall. Logan loves that place so we thought his friends would too. Since it is June, dad's played for free so Nate joined them while I prepped the cupcakes/party favors and watched Kylie and Ethan. My mom helped out as well. Logan had friends from church and cousins Anna, Easton, and Gage. Avery wasn't able to make it. JJ also joined them inside and had a blast. After Dartside, we went to Pizza Pie Cafe with grandparents and JJ, Easton, and Gage. I think Logan really enjoyed this birthday party and it was really easy. It just cost a bit more money than we usually spend.

There was a little kids play area for only $3, so Kylie played here while the party kids went into Dartside.

Saturday we went hiking on the Baer Creek trail by Nate's parents' house. It's fun to go on these little hikes as a family. We didn't make it all the way to the end but it was still a fun hike.

That afternoon, the kids played in Logan's new pool.

Father's day was fun as well. We spent it with Nate's family. We gave him a sun shade for his car to keep it from getting too hot baking in the Layton Station parking lot while he is at work.. At church all the men were given Dad's root beer and a cookie. We also brought the new croquet set we had just gotten to introduce the game to cousins. Steven loved it.
