Happy New Year 2019!

We did our New Year's Eve party with Nate's side this year. This year we had chili, sausage dip (that we brought), and Debbie and Cindy made fondue using the fondue pots we got them for Christmas (Debbie this year, Cindy two years ago). We played Alhambra and Codenames. The kids played games with their cousins and watched a movie. The kids stayed up the whole time! (except Ethan, we put him to bed upstairs with Weston across the hallway in another room). Kylie seems to be a bit of night owl and Logan is more of a morning person. So Kylie was still going, but Logan was getting a bit bleary eyed. But of course, Logan woke up his usual early time the next day and woke Kylie up and she was not happy about being up.

Everyone trying to do the floss. Cindy actually took this video and texted it to me, so I think it made it pretty poor quality. Logan is pretty cute and doing it, though!

Countdown to the New Year! Also Cindy's video.

Nate had Tuesday had off because of New Year's Day. We used the time to clean up Christmas.
This was right after Christmas. Playing with the magnetic dolls Kylie got.

Playing Pie Face. Kylie looked so cute doing it! She was brave and kept her face in there! She probably was better about it than Logan!
I found this shelf for sale at Hobby Lobby so we finally have a place to display our shot glasses!

Friday, we had an at-home date night and watched Ready Player One. It was a pretty good movie.

Saturday we took the kids to the mall playground. They love climbing and jumping around on all the little toys there. It gets pretty crowded, but it is nice because Nate and I can just sit and watch because they can do everything themselves, although Ethan doesn't really play much yet.

Later that day, we started putting up shelves in the kids' closet so they would have more spaces to keep toys. We thought it was going to be a one day project, but since we are not very handy, we ended up being very frustrated and stopping with very little done.

Kylie is a Sunbeam! Officially in primary.
Sunday we started two hour church and it is heavenly. It is much nicer to not have to deal with Ethan for 3 hours. Nate taught out Come Follow Me lesson that week. We had actually started doing Come Follow Me lessons earlier because our Bishop suggested it, so it was an easy transition for us. During the week, we just choose scriptures we think will be good for our family and we just have each person read 1 verse each, each day. So we can't get through all the material, but we discuss things and it keeps the kid's attention. Then on Sunday, we do a bigger lesson with visual aids or activities or whatever to help teach a specific concept. Then Monday, we do our game night as well. With this particular Sunday, we also made our New Year's Resolutions. Each of us made 3 individual goals and we had 4 family goals. The family ones are:
  • Home church lessons each week
  • Scriptures and prayer every night
  • Picture scriptures every school morning
  • Vacation to Lego Land/San Diego
