For Valentine's Day, Nate surprised me by coming home with a big balloon, a card, and a Reeses. Logan loved the balloon. It had one of those balloon anchor things so it wouldn't float up too high and he would crawl around with it. In fact, he still plays with it! All I had for Nate was a card! Grandma Davis also sent Logan a Valentine! His first piece of mail! After I read it to him, we let him chew on it for a bit. There was a dollar inside (we didn't let him chew that) and I realized we need to get him a piggy bank or something so I don't accidentally spend his dollar. We had already decided to go out to dinner on Friday and not Valentine's Day, hoping to avoid some of the crowd, so Valentine's Day was pretty chill. We just watched a chickflick after we put Logan to bed.
On Friday (which also happened to be Logan's 8 month birthday), we got a babysitter so we wouldn't have to worry about Logan. It was really easy for her because we put him to bed right before she came. So she basically got paid to watch TV. But I felt better about that because no one has ever put Logan to bed for the night except one of us. We went to Longhorn Steakhouse. We did their $25 deal (an appetizer, salad, and 2 entrees chosen from a specific list) and we had a coupon, so it ended up being a great deal! It was delicious and it was nice to not be in a hurry to get home to put Logan to bed. After dinner, we decided to go to Babies R Us because we didn't have any change (we had $10) for the babysitter and wanted her to earn the $10. We looked at convertible carseats (but didn't buy any) and finally found a mat to put under his highchair so he doesn't ruin the carpet when he flips food around.
